From the Board Chair (continued)

At present Mr. van Roon is a managing director and founding partner of a Swiss-based private wealth management firm founded in the year 2000. The firm is engaged to advise medium sized corporations and high net worth individuals about long term strategic choices for wealth creation and preservation. He maintains offices in the UK, US, Switzerland, Poland, Malta, and Hong Kong.

In talking about why he would like to serve on the Foundation’s Board of Directors, Arne stated that “I do believe that the planet can greatly benefit from a wide, high quality, distribution of this knowledge through training programs. There is hardly a human being that cannot benefit from his work. I see my greatest contribution as a board member to support an increase in the training activity worldwide, if possible with government and NGO support, as well as the stimulation of scientific research of the SE system”.

While we are speaking of FHE BOD members, I want to be sure to express congratulations to FHE Board and Faculty member Maggie Kline and FHE Founder and Senior Advisor Peter Levine on the publication of their book, Trauma Through a Child’s Eyes: Awakening the Ordinary Miracle of Healing. Maggie and Peter’s book has been described as “an essential guide for recognizing, preventing and healing childhood trauma, from infancy through adolescence — what parents, educators, and health professionals can do”. Congratulations to you both for this important and meaningful accomplishment. We are all pleased to be associated with leaders who are helping to bring such education, understanding and healing to the world.

Looking forward, the FHE board will continue to focus efforts on not only the continued oversight, financial management and strategic direction for the FHE, but we will strive to bring greater reach to the Foundation’s overall efforts. We continue to welcome ideas on expanded outreach activities, expansion of external fund raising and expanded tools for research, communication and global education. The FHE is continuing to explore new ways of bringing the message of Somatic Experiencing® to new audiences and regions. As an example, we are right now in dialogue with partners for collaborations in new teaching markets and new pedagogical approaches to our work

I wish to again recognize not only the efforts of the Foundation’s leadership team and staff, but to the many, many individuals that offer countless hours of support, leadership, education, financial contributions and selfless giving of their energies that make the message of the Foundation for Human Enrichment a true voice in the world of trauma healing.
