Dear Colleagues,
We hope that you are well and enjoying the summer (unless you are receiving this in the southern hemisphere, in which case we hope you are enjoying your winter!).
We are writing this letter together to share that Jane Hansberry is leaving her position as FHE Executive Director at the end of this summer. We commend Jane for her leadership and many accomplishments on behalf of the organization and wish her well with her future pursuits, which include teaching at the University of Colorado, School of Public Affairs. Jane is assisting with the transitions of her duties to other FHE staff members. Meanwhile, a task force representing FHE faculty, staff and board members has been created to continue to review and implement the kind of organizational structures needed to best support our SE ® training. Please know that business will proceed as usual as we look forward to the second half of 2008.
The FHE has many exciting projects in the pipeline, including new curriculum, new training markets, and several pending research grants, one of which would provide us the opportunity to work with the Portland Oregon Veterans Medical Center.
Also in this Tiger News are reports on the progress of the China Earthquake Relief Project (CHERP) as well as the great work at the SE ® clinic at COTS, the homeless shelter in Petaluma, CA.
On behalf of the FHE Board and Staff, thank you for your belief in the power of SE® to prevent and heal trauma. It is with your help, and that of the entire global SE® community, that we will continue to see the ripple effect of our healing work in the world.
Warmest regards,
Peter Levine, Ph.D.
