Professional Description: Maggie Phillips, Ph.D. of Oakland, California, USA, has 30+ years of experience in the field of trauma treatment with special interests in dissociative disorders, chronic pain, and stress syndromes. She has written three books; the most recent is Freedom From Pain which is co-authored with Peter Levine, PhD, Reversing Chronic Pain: A 10-Point All-Natural Plan for Lasting Relief with a foreword by Peter Levine. Dr. Phillips is also the author of Finding the Energy to Heal and co-author of Healing the Divided Self: Clinical and Ericksonian Hypnotherapy for Posttraumatic and Dissociative Conditions (1995). Maggie has lectured widely on integrative multi-modal models for trauma resolution in the US, Scandinavia, the UK, Europe, South Africa, Japan, China, and Australia. She began her work in Somatic Experiencing® with Peter Levine in 1980 and has taught with Peter for more than 25 years. She is a fellow in the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and has taught hypnosis through the Erickson Foundation, European and international hypnosis societies, and the Foundation for Ego State Therapy. A Fellow in the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, Maggie has also taught workshops in the application of EMDR in France, the US, and Mexico, and is a certified EMDR therapist. Maggie is also a Diplomate in Energy Psychology and teaches Energy Psychology approaches in the US, Canada, Europe and China.
