Training Requirements
Requisite reading for the Beginning Level Trainings is Waking the Tiger and In An Unspoken Voice
The complete training program consists of three levels: Beginning, Intermediate and
Advanced. The Beginning level and Intermediate level each consist of three modules.
Each module is four days in length. The Advanced Level consists of two modules, each
six days in length. Participants attend the first two years in their "home" location with the
assigned instructor. Participants may then be required to travel to attend the Advanced
level classes. Costs incurred for travel, room and board are the responsibility of each
participant.

If you wish to obtain a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) certificate, the following additional requirements must be met and recorded on this: Participant Session Log
Personal Sessions:
12 hours of personal sessions during the 3 year training. The cost for a personal session counting towards the minimum requirements for the SEP certificate and noted on a Session Log ranges from $75-$100 with an approved provider and up to $150 with an SE Trauma Institute™ faculty member.
Case Consultations:
18 units of case consultation, to include Individual and Group, during the 3 year training. Case consultations must be received from an approved consultation provider. A minimum of 6 hours of the required 18 units must be with a Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute™ faculty member; these can be either in the group or individual case consultation venue.
Individual Case Consultations:
For individual case consultations, 1 consult hour equals 1 credit hour. The cost for an individual case consultation counting towards the minimum requirements for the SEP certificate and noted on a Session Log ranges from $75-$100 with an approved provider and up to $150 with an SE Trauma Institute™ faculty member.

Participants must receive a minimum of 4 hours of the required 18 units of Case Consultation in an Individual Case Consultation format. This will insure that all requirements will not be met without a participant ever personally presenting a case.
Group Case Consultations:
For group case consultations (3 or more people), 3 consult hours equal 1 credit hour. The cost for a 3 hour group case consultation counting towards the minimum requirements for the SEP certificate and noted on a Session Log is $75 per person. This rate applies whether the session is conducted by an approved provider or a an SE Trauma Institute™ faculty member.

The Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute encourages participants to obtain sessions from a variety of providers in the hope that you may benefit from their experience of being taught by the various members of the SE Trauma Institute faculty. Each faculty members brings unique gifts to their teachings; by receiving sessions from approved providers who have been taught by these different faculty members, you have the potential to enhance your learning experience.
