Continuing Education

CEUs offered for the SE® Professional Training (USA only):

The Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute is pleased to offer Continuing Education credit for each of the 8 modules constituting our 3-year SE® Professional Training. Please note the CE/CEUs listed below are not are offered for every SE® workshop. Specific CE/CEUs offered for workshops other than the SE® Professional Training modules will be listed with the class info on our training schedule.


APA - American Psychological Association:Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor Continuing Education for Psychologists. Psychologists completing this program receive 24 CEs for each Beginning and Intermediate-level training module, and 36 CEs for each Advanced-level module. CES maintains responsibility for this program.


BBS - California Board of Behavioral Sciences: The Somatic Experiencing® Professional Training meets the qualifications for 24 hours of continuing education credit for each Beginning and Intermediate training module and 36 hours credit for each Advanced training module for MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

BRN - California Board of Registered Nursing: The Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute is a provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP 14791. Participants attending the SE Professional Training can receive 24 continuing education contact hours for each Beginning and Intermediate-level training module, and 36 contact hours for each Advanced-level training module.

NAADAC - Association for Addictions Professionals: Commonwealth Educational Seminars (CES) is approved by the NAADAC- the Association for Addiction Professions Approved Education Provider Program (Provider #174). Training participants in the SE Professional Training will receive 24 continuing education contact hours for each Beginning and Intermediate-level training module, and 36 contact hours for each Advanced-level training module.

NBCC - National Board of Certified Counselors: The Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute is an NBCC-Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP™) and may offer NBCC-approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP solely is responsible for all aspects of the program.

NCBTMB - National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork: The Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider and is also sponsored by NCBTMB to teach New York LMTs continuing education that is accepted by the state of New York for license renewal.

Rolf Institute of Structural Integration (RISI): While the SE® Trauma Institute does not award CEs for Certified Rolfers®, each module of our three year SE® Professional Training has been approved as an Outside Workshop by the Rolf Institute. 7 course hours = 1 Rolfing® CE. You may submit your SE® certificate of completion along with a fee to RISI and they will apply Elective Credit toward your Rolfing re-certification requirements. 7 course hours = 1 Rolfing® CE.
