SE Level: Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, SE Touch Training for Psychotherapists Certification, & Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute Faculty Member
Professional Title: Body-oriented Psychotherapist; Counselor Educator
Professional Description: I have worked in the field of counseling for thirty-five years.
During that time, I've worked with children, youth and adults, though my most recent clinical
work has primarily been with adults.
I have also been a teacher for thirty-five years. I began my work as a teacher-counselor,
working with at-risk youth. I have also taught and counseled at the College and University
level for twenty-five years. For the last fifteen years, I've been Academic Coordinator for
Community-based Graduate Programs in Counseling at the University of Victoria.
In my practice, I work from a body-oriented perspective with people affected by trauma.
I have integrated the principles and use of SE, SE touch and table work. Within my practice,
I have an ongoing commitment to working with aboriginal communities and individuals,
both in my counselling practice and my teaching.
My life partner, Linda, is a school counsellor and also an SEP. We have two children,
Peter (no; he is not named after Dr. Levine) and Natalia.
We are also grandparents to Brandon, the love of all of our lives.
