Professional Description: David Grill, MFT, C.T.S. is a Certified Trauma Specialist who has been involved in the understanding and treatment of trauma since 1987. He is a faculty member for The Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute and a teacher/trainer for their Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Training Program. He has extensive training in cognitive behavioral and somatic treatment approaches and is certified in the more innovative techniques of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Thought Field Therapy (TFT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), and trained in Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR). An expert in the understanding of the impact of trauma on the mind and the body, he teaches the importance of working with both the psychological and physiological symptoms of traumatic stress, post-traumatic stress and PTSD. He has presented at national and international conferences and trauma training programs, for major corporations and businesses, schools, and the American Red Cross. He is an experienced Critical Incident Stress debriefer and helped develop a process called Deactivation, used to enhance Critical Incident Stress Management.
He is also a faculty member and national trainer for the Institute for Trauma & Loss In Children, and a faculty member and teacher for the Graduate Institute of Santa Barbara.
