Training Requirements

The Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute offers a 3 year training program for Healing and Helping Professionals. Some Examples of the professions that seek the SE training include, but are not limited to...

Class Information:
We offer courses in various locations throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Asia and South America. Training times vary from location to location, depending on training facility availability & instructor preference. Typically, classes run Friday through Monday, from approximately 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with sufficient time for a lunch break. These hours may vary, however.

Continuing Education:
The Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute can offer continuing education for SE trainings for some professions. To learn more, please visit our Professional Training Section.

Additional Requirements:
In addition to course time, participants are also required to obtain 12 hours of personal sessions and 18 units of case consultation during the 3 year course to meet certification requirements.

The costs for personal sessions range from $75-$150 per session hour, depending on the provider. The cost for individual case consultations range from $75-$150 and group case consultations average $75 per person for a 3 hour session. SEŽ approved providers have agreed to provide service to participants at these designated rates.

Participants must receive personal sessions & case consultations from an approved provider. Participants will receive 1 hour of credit for a 3 hour group case consultation including 3 or more persons. For individual case consultations, a 1 hour consult constitutes 1 hour of credit.

Other fees associated with the program:
The cost of personal sessions and consultations are the responsibility of the participant (see below). If a course is not offered in your area, all fees associated with travel and lodging are the responsibility of the participant. Any manuals or materials will be provided to you in class at no additional charge.
