FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Boulder Colorado - The Foundation for Human Enrichment (FHE), a 501 (c) (3) non-profit international training and educational foundation dedicated to the worldwide healing and prevention of trauma announces the spin-off of the Trauma First Aide training courses.

In an effort to allow a greater level of focus to the successful and widely applicable Trauma First Aide training courses, the Trauma Resource Institute, www.TraumaFirstAide.com, an independent non-profit organization, has been created by Dr. Geneie Everett, formerly FHE's Trauma Outreach Program Director, Elaine Miller Karas, MSW, LCSW, and Dr. Laurie Leitch to offer their short term stabilization model to medical professionals, first responders, aide agencies, and others. This move will help bring a greater level of focus and independence to these courses while at the same time, allowing the FHE to move forward with continued growth and expansion of their popular Trauma Outreach Program.

Geneie Everett will conclude her role with the FHE as TOP Director on November 30, 2006. "Dr. Everett's work over the past two years has been instrumental in the development of TOP's mission within the FHE organization and we wish her, Elaine Miller-Karas and Dr. Leitch great success in their independent venture" says Belinda Davison, Acting Executive Director of FHE. "In a very short time, Geneie, Elaine and the TOP committee evolved a program from nine volunteers with no clear mission into a cohesive program and built an experienced team of over 40 individuals capable of supporting multiple field projects and taking SE into the wider world".

Building on early success and popularity of the Trauma Outreach Program (TOP) efforts, the FHE plans to continue the development and refinement of programs that will offer an outlet for the SE community to deliver more direct, immediate relief to underserved populations and to build early response capacity in communities across the world.

The FHE welcomes members of the SE community who are interested in working with these TOP efforts and/or who wish to share ideas, suggestions and support to the further development of programs that will help spread the use of SE to a broad localized base of aid workers, first responders and the population in general. If you wish to learn more, share ideas or become more involved with FHE's Trauma Outreach program, please contact the FHE at TOP@traumahealing.com.
